Hey Forrest Crossing Swim Parents!

We know all these swim apps and websites are confusing but bear with us. Here is a guide to help you navigate all of this new media. We realize it’s too much! Year by year Swimtopia and Swimmingly have made it easier to run a summer swim team smoothly. Not long ago we were doing everything on paper and carrying around notebooks like a life shield. Someday we may be able to have everything on Swimmingly, but for now I have tried to underline the one thing that you need to know about use for these apps and websites. --- Dana Holloway, FCST

Swimtopia Website

This is where you register for the team and extra clinics/events, get all team information and sign up for jobs or opt in/out of meets, etc.

Extra Housekeeping in Swimtopia:

Every swimmer needs to opt in/out of every meet! Please let us know if you won’t be at a meet. We know you have vacations and camps. In order to swim in a meet you have to meet enter/opt in or out by Thursday morning the week before the meet. Under Meet and Events click on Meet Entry and opt in or out for every meet.  We may still put your swimmer in the meet but they won’t be put in relays if you don’t declare them. If a swimmer doesn’t stay for a relay, it disqualifies the other three kids that were swimming on the relay with your swimmer. “How to” video is on https://fcswim.swimtopia.com on the side bar!

Swimtopia App

We use this for last minute communications from the team (rain delays or cancellations). It usually comes through like a text message through the app but should email you if you don’t have this set up yet. You also can opt in or out/meet enter your swimmer for meets and sign up for jobs. You do not have to use this app.

Swimmingly Website

You have to go to our personalized link below, preferably on a computer to create an account. For older computers you must use Chrome as a browser. Phones create issues for some reasons.

This is used to create our meets and merge with other teams so we can create heat sheets and enter events. You shouldn’t need to go here again this swim season after you have created your account and joined the clubhouse!

Swimmingly App

Download the Swimmingly app to help work the meets.

Here are the latest versions: Swimmingly (iOS) v8.0.0

Swimmingly Timer (Android) v8.0.1

Timer Role only: Any Android running Marshmallow (6.0) up to Android 10 are compatible. Please note: Android 11 is not yet supported. Due to the extensive range of Android devices, we recommend staying with name-brands. We strongly recommend Android devices that are compatible with both 2.4ghz and 5ghz WiFi networks (all iOS devices have this feature).

When you click on the Swimmingly App on your phone you should see: Starter, Timer, Stroke & Turn Judge. This app is only needed during meets for these jobs.

SwimminglyFan App

This App is not to be confused with the Swimmingly App which is used to work jobs at the meets. This app is used on meet days. You should see your swimmer times here and their events. You do not have to use this app. Some like to know how their kids did immediately and compare to other meets. **This is new for us this year so we may experience some bumps.
